Homopolymer Acetal or Delrin is the best plastic for turning on a CNC lathe lathe. It is simple to turn, however it requires slower speeds. I’ve used this plastic to make Scottish small pipes chanters. I have ordered countless items from iPlastic. Small pieces usually ship quickly and everything is always well packed. Between the Delrin and Acetal rods, both materials are incredibly tough and easily machinable, and they have very comparable physical properties. They appear the same, but in practical uses there are some differences that can make one preferable than the other. It also depends on your application.
